
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s latest hangout is Chinese social media platform Weibo.
“你好中国!期待通过微博与中国朋友们互动. Hello China! Looking forward to interacting with Chinese friends through Weibo”, he said.
An avid and active social media enthusiast Modi uses diverse social media platforms to reach out to people across India and the world. People all over the world look forward to Modi’s social media updates on working of the government, policy deliberations, his own thoughts, greetings and replies to well-wishers. He also been uses info-graphics and videos to share the efforts of the Indian government in the last one year.
The Prime Minister’s Office also maintains a strong presence on social media. This is in sync with his vision of a digital India, where technology plays a pivotal role in Governance and policy making.
Modi would be visiting China later this month on a bilateral visit. In September 2014, he welcomed President Xi Jinping on a visit to India. Later in November 2014 he met Premier Le Keqiang in Myanmar. Both meetings were very productive and the leaders discussed several ways to enhance ties between India and China. As Chief Minister of Gujarat, Modi had travelled to China in November 2011.

Koirala came to know about quake from Modi's tweetsNepal's Prime Minister Sushil Koirala was in Thailand when the 7.9-magnitude earthquake rocked his country. As soon as he landed at the Bangkok airport, Koirala saw Indian PM Narendra Modi's tweets on the quake.The Indian prime minister had also called Koirala in Thailand, offered his condolences over the loss of lives in the earthquake and offered all help to overcome the crisis.
