Zika virus- the more we know, the worse things look.

Zika virus was first discovered in 1947 and named after Zika forest in Uganda. In 1952, the first human case of Zika were detected and since Zika have been reported in tropical Africa, Southeast Asia, and Pacific Islands. Medical evidence from several countries strongly suggests that sexual transmission of the virus is more common than previously assumed. Most people infected with Zika virus don’t even know that they have the disease because there aren’t any symptoms. Another drawback is that symptoms of Zika are similar to many other diseases. All this is alarming news as more cases are expected in the coming months on a larger geographic area.
