“We are the Latin American country with the highest minimum pension in Latin America, which according to the World Bank amounts to US$ 442, followed by Brazil with US$ 300”, President Cristina Fernandez said.
She added that at the end of the present moratorium, 97% of the Argentines entitled to receive a pension will have received one.

She was reacting to La Nacion (newspaper) report about alleged “looting” of the social security funds and mismanagement of pension funds by her government.
According to the newspaper pensions were granted through moratorium, to people who had never paid their social security dues.
