General Ved Prakash Malik was the 19th Chief of Army Staff. Commissioned in the Sikh Light Infantry on 07 June 1959 He was the Army Chief during the Kargil War. After retirement from the Army, he served as a member of the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) for two years and has authored many books and articles on security-related issues.
